Hey CC, I'm a rising senior in san antonio and I am interested in pursuing a career in medicine. Therefore, bs/md seems like the best fit in order to attain my goal. Over my high school years, I have acquired exceptional extra curricular activities in order to give me the best chance. The only problem though, I believe, is my GPA. My zeal towards the medical field didnt fully solidify until late first semester of my sophomore year, and so I didnt put much effort in my freshman year. I am remorseful and wish somehow I could go back in time and fix. But as we all now, that is impossible. So, since that point I have been working very diligently and have increased my GPA significantly. The following are my stats:

SAT: 2080 M: 710 R: 660 W: 710 <---most recent
2040 M:700 R: 600 W: 740
2030 M: 730 R: 630 W: 670
Super scored: 2130

PSAT: 159 M:63 R: 49 W: 60 <---------I know its low, so I took a class

ACT: 31 E: 27 M:35 R:29 S:32 <--Dont know why I went down in english
27 E:29 M: 34 R: 24 S: 21 <--I increased science alot

GPA: 97.001/100 weighted 19/168 rank (up from 55)
-Went up from a 92.9 my freshman year
- 3.89/4 unweighted (I don't why the school gave my unweighted in this form)
- F: 3.57 S: 4.0 J: 4.0 (damn freshman year)

Only one AP class (Comp Sci) b/c the other AP classes were conflicting with Clinical Rotation (our school is unique in that it is health oriented and allows students to take rotations at the hospital)

Extra Curriculars:
-AAU Basketball
-research (2 years) next year we have a class designed to allow students to do research
-Volunteer hours (700+)
-National Honor Society
-HOSA (Pres and VP in junior and soph year respectively)

-tutor
-BPA
-NYLF MED
-CPR Certified
-Gold youth leadership program

Merits:

-Presidential service award gold
-3rd place alamo regional science fair
-KCCNA (North America) Elocution Competition 1st
-few more but can't remember at this moment

The only thing that is making me discouraged are my SAT/ACT/GPA. I have wroked really hard to bring my sat scores higher and went up nearly 600 pts since my first psat freshman year. I was not intending on taking the ACT a second time, and ended up taking it without studying. Surprisingly, my scores increased drastically. I have become extremely discouraged about the SAT because no matter how much I try, I seem to never break 700 in reading. I am becoming a little more optimistic about the ACT, which I will take in september. Considering I didnt really study for the second act, I feel, indefinitely, that i could attain a 34+. However, its hard for me to rebuff the sat because I spent nearly 400 hours studying for it in total. I'm not quite sure if I should try to study for both or focus on the ACT since i truly did not study much for it. What do you guys suggest?
