What are my chances for colleges such as Brown? Will being Hispanic help?

Hi, I am currently thinking of applying to ~15 schools (I’m hoping I can narrow that list down.) I was wondering my chances for some of these schools.

SAT: 2090
GPA: 3.95 UW, 4.14 W (my GPA will go up next semester to around 4.2)
ACT: 31
(I will take the ACT again in the fall – hoping for a 32 or 33)

In junior and senior year I will have taken 6 APs: AP Spanish, APUSH, AP Psychology, AP English, AP Calculus AB and APES.

ECs:
-Editor in Chief of award winning school magazine
-News Editor of award winning school newspaper
-Secretary of Model United Nations Club
-Member of speech team
-Did 3 internships in high school; one was paid
-Won the Gold President’s Award for Community Service
-I have won several minor journalism awards, including a Silver Key in Scholastic Arts for journalism
-Founding member of successful journalism summer camp
-I did JV track, badminton and cross country
-National Honor Society
-National Hispanic Recognition Program

I am currently a junior, so I haven’t done an interview/letter of rec/etc yet.

What are my chances of getting accepted into Brown, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Tulane and Carnegie Mellon? Those are some of my top choices.

Also, I am Hispanic and scored in the top 2.5% of Hispanics who took the PSAT this year. How will this affect my chances? Thanks so much!

I think you have a pretty good chance at top tier schools, but those are all a crapshoot. I would recommend doing some test prep and also adding some safeties to your list if you don’t already have some. Also, being Hispanic will probably help. Good luck next year!

Exactly what Roxbury said. You are qualified, but make sure to get more lower tier schools in the mix. Being Hispanic might work out to your favor but honestly people exaggerate how much it helps

your stats are scaaaaary similar to mine hahahahah we have the exact same test scores and I’m secretary of MUN at my school too!!
