what are my chances for Duke?

I am a junior student at a highly respected Catholic High School in Canada (near Toronto). I have 3.5 unweighted GPA and was elected Head Boy in the students council for next year. I am also going to China for the Global Young Leaders Conference this summer. Assuming i do well on the SAT's, what are my chances of getting into Duke university? Thanks

Well, being out of state hurts your chances, so Im guessing being out of country is even worse. But I'd like to know what your extracurriculurs are and your class rank. Also, do you have a weighted GPA?

I thought that they needed international students. Duke doesnt have many students from in-state anyways. My extracurriculars are pretty good. I am the Head Boy on the students council at my high school, i play varsity basketball and baseball, and volunteer alot at my city hospital. I was selected to go to china for the global young leaders conference also. My GPA is a 3.5, i'm not sure what it is if its weighted and i take all advanced classes.

^ What?, why would out-of-state hurt your chances for Duke?, duke's not a state school, its a private college, they don't care if you live in the same state or not, instead, they'd prefer geographic diversity.....

You need to do really well on the sats to stand a chance at Duke, around a 2200-2250+ range. Your gpa is weak for duke, try bringing up your unweigthed to at least a 3.7-3.8 range...

International chances are different though from domestic chances. If you plan on applying for Financial Aid, your chances will be lower, because admissions is not need-blind for international appllicants at Duke.* I am not too sure if admissions is not need-blind for internationals at Duke , but check to find out, it is at most schools.

I dont need financial aid. My important high school credits are 4 years of math and english, 2 years of AP chemistry, biology and physics. and 1 year of AP calculus.

Actually, Colleges00701, Duke admits a certain percentage from each area. 34% are NC residents 14% are from elsewhere in the SE. Its not the same as in state-out of state. But it does matter where you live.
