its me again...i have been checking multiple times a day to see if there is a reply, and it is driving me a little crazy. i know you guys hate the "chances" questions, and i know that you obviously cannot tell me if i will get in or not, but it would be so wonderful if someone could tell me if i have any chance. even if it is bad news, i would love to hear what you all think. thank you so so much for your honestly and replies.

ps. on monday i had an interview with barnard admissions...and i also had an interview with the columbia crew coach. they both went well, i think. maybe that will help my chances a little bit.

I should think your chances for ED are good, particularly with the crew thing thrown into the mix. Of course nothing is certain, but I wish you the best!!!

i hope so. thanks for the reply!

You are welcome! Hang in there and keep us posted...

Do you think I would have a better chance of being accepted to Barnard by applying ED?

Here is my usual caveat about being just a mom and not qualified to really tell you "chances", but I assume you know all of that...

That being said, I think you sound like a good fit for Barnard as long as your essays convey your particular interest and why it would be a good fit for you. I assume you are able to articulate that well with having spent time at Barnard's summer program, and with all of your writing experiences.

So, I think your RD chances would be reasonable, though of course you technically would have a better shot (as does anyone reasonably qualified) at ED admission. Do not go that route, though, if finances could be a significant issue for you. Be sure you talk through all of that with your family.

Best to you! Keep us posted...

tennis- unless you REALLY REALLY want to go to barnard, i dont think you need to apply ed
