What are my chances for engineering?

Hi,
I’m slightly concerned with my college choices because I want to apply for Aerospace engineering this coming year. Please help me with any tips! Thanks! Here are my “stats”
California resident
Junior, class of 2017
Asian male
Major: Aerospace engineering
Gpa uw:3.52 w:3.97
Class rank 137/510
Act composite: 30
New psat( if it matters) 1370/1520
Extracurriculars
Eagle Scout
President of science club, environmental club, Chinese club
President of FRC robotics team ( also was head of CAD and electrical engineering )
Took PLTW Principles of Engineering course
Sports editor of school newspaper
Over 300 service hours
Boeing internship
Summer program at the Aerospace Corporation
3 year track and cross country member (1 yr varsity)

My top choice is to go to Texas A&M, but being out of state and just below the top 25% I’m sure if this will become a reality, especially for engineering. I’m not sure if I should just give up on TAMU altogether. I’d really appreciate some insight on my chances at TAMU!
I am also interested in my chances for the lower tier UC’s (Riverside, Davis, santa Cruz) ,cal poly Pomona, csulb, sjsu, etc. Thanks!

Is TAMU affordable for you and your family?

You look competitive for UCR/UCSC/CPP/SJSU/CSULB. UCD might be a slight Reach.

Good Luck.

the cost of TAMU is not a problem for my family, but I’m just not sure if my profile is competitive enough to get into engineering there. I’d much rather go there than the uc’s/csu’s. My uc gpa is a 3.89 which isnt very good either :frowning:
In your opinion is there a chance i can get in to TAMU?

Apply to A & M. Engineering at College Station may be stretch with your class rank. That said, there are other pathways to engineering. You could be offered Engineering at Galveston or Blinn Engineering Academy. It won’t hurt to apply.
