I'm a senior at a regular public highschool.

GPA currently: 2.9 (unweighted)
Rigor after senior year: 6 AP, 2 Honors (AP Stat, AP USH, APES, AP Lang, AP Calc AB, AP Human)
SAT: 1070 (CR+M) / 1550 (Wr+Cr+M)
Sports: 1 year wrestling, 3 years soccer, 1 year swimming
Extra: Coached Soccer for 4/5 yr olds at local church, years of being Vacation bible school leader.

Haven't asked for a Recommendation yet, nor done an Essay.

I have six science and foreign language credits, and five math credits, do colleges care if you have more credits than neccesary? My SAT score won't be much higher at all, I haven't studied very much for it. Obviously, my SAT and GPA are an outlier for this website (; I'm going to definitely get all A's this year, but how much will that matter by when I apply?

The colleges I'm looking at are UGA, North Georgia, Georgia southern, Kennesaw, and Georgia state college.

UGA will definitely be hard to get into. You should be fine at GSU, Kennasaw, and the other schools you listed. However, you won’t qualify for HOPE.

I beg to differ. I bet he will get into Ksu or at least wait listed. I’ve known people with similar stats to get in. Get ur gpa to A 3.0 and u qualify for hope. Id say retake ur sat another 100 points also

Okay, he may get into KSU, but I find it hard to have empathy for people who want chances and say they didn’t study for their SAT. Seriously, if somebody cant take a week and study for an entrance exam, they probably aren’t ready for college.

UGA is definitely a high reach, probably a little unrealistic because you show no enthusiasm for college, they will notice this. Make sure your essay is good. Good luck to you!
