I’m really hoping that my extra curriculars will outweigh my ACT score!!!

I will say that I am applying for the honor’s college and I am doing all of the recommended items, as well as a zeemee account.

Also an admissions counselor emailed me and told me that I should apply early action, as it will help me to get in much easier!!

Thank you so much!

Your ACT would put you below the 25th percentile which is a bit unusual for a 4.0 student. Are you retaking the ACT on 10/28?

I’m retaking the ACT on December 9th and I am planning to score a 30!

you should aim higher school with your stats as you have everything except but act. You should apply to college like rice.

anyway are you doing the single choice early action?

As others said, double down on working hard on your ACT and retake. That score is killing you. It will help your chances and could help you get merit money I disagree with yopomok…Rice would be a real stretch for you at this point, even if you move your ACT up to a 30.

Rice would be an extreme reach.

The middle 50% ACT at Rice for last year was 32-35.

I am doing early action!

I just want to know if Baylor will be a stretch. I am interested in rice, but it isn’t a priority.

ACT Middle 50% for the past few years:
2017 = 26-31
2016 = 26-30
2015 = 25-30
2014 = 24-30
2013 = 24-29
2012 = 24-29

I would say your focus needs to be to get your ACT to a 28 or so. How are you scoring on practice exams?

Around that, it will be higher later.

I would also like to note that Baylor personally sent me a letter saying that I was qualified for one of their scholarships if I was in the top 50% of my class, so I am hoping that means that I will get in!

Baylor makes it very easy to know your merit-based aid… I wish every school was this easy! Just go here:
https://www.baylor.edu/estimator/index.php and click on scholarship estimator. Put in your ACT/SAT and class rank and it will give your scholarship. You can play around with what-if situations to see what you could get to. After you are admitted, you can keep on taking the ACT/SAT up until June and increase your scholarships if you score better.
