You’re definitely on the right track, but it’s too soon to tell without standardized test scores. I remember when I was in grade 10 and posting similar chance threads, then getting upset because people would tell me to ‘come back when I have scores’. Sadly, it’s the truth. But you definitely seem to be doing very well in your academics and extracurriculars right now, which is an amazing first step towards eventual admission into the Ivy Leagues.
My advice to you: Definitely pick up a sport and maybe an instrument, do lots of interesting community service, definitely put your summers to productive use (internships, a job, maybe more community service or even extra classes, etc.), keep your grades up, and get amazing test scores! Then you will have an excellent shot at Harvard.
Best of luck. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Having gone through the hell of Ivy League admissions myself, I’d be happy to help.
*I think you have excellent chances!
–> side note- don’t list you have microsoft office knowledge as almost everyone applying to college does.
Respectfully, you’ve been given the answer. Keep charging and maybe ask for a chance again when you have test scores. But don’t fixate on Harvard as the only answer either. For any competitive school, there are more qualified applicants than spots available.
Apart from the test scores, the only thing missing is having some ECs of international or national prominence. While the ECs you have listed show commitment and drive, they won’t particularly wow me.
Go to the harvard subforum and take a read through the stats/profile of the accepted students. This will give you an idea of what type of ECs they are looking for at Harvard. As you can probably tell, its not easy to get into Harvard, even for URMs with 2400/4.0.
Bump. Just want to hear everyone’s opinion.
It’s not necessary to bump. No one can give you real chances when you have no test scores. Come back after you’ve gotten your SAT/ACT scores back.
@hopeforthebest82 please elaborate
Go away, take the SAT/ACT
As of right now, no chance at all. Simply because you have not taken any standardized testing yet. As many others have already told you, please think about standardized testing before asking for us to determine your chances.
Also, I don’t see the point of continually asking for blind assessments of your chance. As others have said, you’re on the right track assuming you maintain your academic and extracurricular performance. That’s basically everyone’s opinion…what else do you want to know? Do you just want to hear more praise from us?
