Here are some of my school's stats for Cornell:
Average Accepted GPA: 99.63 (I have a 95.76) *** My GPA is considered pretty low in comparison here, but I have shown a great upward trend since freshman year. Eliminate my freshman year grades and early sophomore, and I would have about a 99.33 average, hypothetically
Combined SAT 1600: 1425 (I have a 1470)
Single SAT 2400: 2119 (I have a 2240)
Combined SAT 2400: 2135 (I have a 2270)
Acceptance Rate: 104/572 (18%)

Do you know if you’re in top 10% of your class? You have some interesting extracurriculars and good SAT scores, but what exactly do you want to do with the ILR degree? Fit is very important here.

@KAMEO550 I honestly do not know, my graduating class size is 298 so any percentage would be skewed as its such a small class. The top 10% would only be the top 29 students or so.

Stop worrying and go with your gut instinct. Yes everyone has a chance, but you must believe that you do, convey that in your supplement and apply.

@KAMEO550 @Kungpaoasian In my ILR supplement, I said I had an array of interests (business, econ, HR) and ILR allows me to gain a unique set of skills from its selection of courses. Is it okay that I don’t have one specific interest?? I’m worried if they see me unfitting.

@MyRealName Hey man I am a high schooler just like you. I am in no way qualified to chance you as I am not part of the adcom. This is why I have not made my own chance me because no one here is related to admissions. If you are looking for someone to tell you that you have a shot of getting in sure I’ll say it, but it means absolutely nothing. Maybe I’m being harsh, but regardless of what I or others say I hope is not going to change your goals and dreams of getting into Cornell. If it does well…maybe I am wrong about such threads. What I am trying to say is the process is holistic and if Cornell is your first choice, apply. Don’t worry about chances because you never know what they’re looking for. You obviously don’t have major flaws in your resume that stick out so yes you have a chance of getting in, but you never know what your true chances are until you are compared to every other applicant.

Go through that and compare yourself. If you’re application to CAS, CHE, CALS, or ILR (you’ve displayed interest in all of them) has similarities with those accepted, you probably have a good shot. Good luck!
