This is my first post so I'm not too sure about the 'correct' format to do this in, but my question is basically, what are my chances to get into James Madison University? I am currently a senior in high school. I attend a college prep catholic school in Los Angeles California. My GPA is not what it should be but it's a a 3.1-3.2 (on a 4.0 scale). I have been on the debate team for 4 years. Sophomore year I was historian, Junior year I was tournament direction, and this year I am team captain and head tournament director. I have been in Girl Scouts for 10 years and I received my silver award (I stopped last year). I am historian in the woman's empowerment club this year. I have been an ambassador for 4 years at my high school, and a member of the Red Cross club for 4 years. I am also Puerto Rican, and will be a first generation college student. My mom works and my dad is unemployed. I'm not really sure what else to include, but I'm looking at schools specifically in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. My dream school is James Madison, and I'm wondering what you think about my chances about getting in, or any other schools in the area that you think would be a good fit. (Majoring in political science minoring in international relations/affairs)
Thank you so much for reading

any feedback at all would really help!

JMU is actually about 2 1/2 hours from Washington dc, George Mason, American and George Washington are all in or close to DC and thus have better international relations

Im ok with the distance. I know some of the programs closer to D.C will have better internship opportunities and sometimes better programs, but with my GPA and scores, do you think I have a chance getting into any of those schools?
Thanks for the response
