hi
so i am a biology major as well as a sophomore at a decent college. I am minoring in healthcare management. My science gpa is 3.2 and my all other gpa is 3.6. What are my chances of getting into an in-state medical school. I haven't taken my mcats yet but considering i get about 31 what are my chances? I got all A's and B's in my classes except for chem II which i got a C+.

I volunteered at upenn hospital for 3 months, joined my college ems team, I was a mentor for a go green summer program for inner city kids, i am part of HEART organization at my school, and i am in a dance team at my college.

if you wanna become a MD then you don’t have much of a chance. Go to a 1-2 year master program to improve your gpa and mcat and show medical schools you can handle a hard curriculum.

if you wanna become a DO then you have an good chance because they average gpa for DO school is a 3.4 gpa and 27 on the mcat.

there aren’t many diffrences between MD and DO but some people prefer to have MD just for more recognition. Also for very competive residency like opthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, and Radiology very few DO are accepted.
