HONESTLY, WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK???

oh yeah, i forgot to add my GPA...4.2 weighted...

Peter, my guess is it's quite possible you'll be admitted. I've seen kids with higher SATs get denied but then you've got to figure it might be an untoward reference letter or something else. Did you take the SAT more than once? I know they think kids should take it again if they didn't like their first score. 1360 is in range, though.

Your gpa and class schedule are strong, as are your junior AP scores. ECs look solid but not wildly outstanding. My guess is your ECs look like most applicants'.

At this point you get the docmom lecture :) You will do great in life no matter if you're accepted into Notre Dame or not. If you are accepted, perfect. If not, you will go to another school, have a fine educational experience, make the friends of a lifetime, and love your school. I'd also like to remind you that you CAN transfer into ND if you make good contact with their transfer admissions counselor and follow his or her advice to the T (the right schedule and the right first year gpa). So, the point is, even if you're ultimately denied, you still have options. If you are waitlisted, post it here and we'll all help you with strategies you might employ to increase your chances of getting in off of the waitlist.

Whatever happens, you will be fine. Relax for the next several weeks. You've done everything in your power to have the best outcome and you need to mentally accept all the possible outcomes and what your stragegies will be if those occur. Maybe it would help you in the next few weeks while you're waiting to hear if you put it all down on paper so your plan feels more concrete and not so ethereal.

Best of luck. You sound like a great kid.

Hello Docmom,
Thanks so much. Yes, I did take SAT's several times...and thanks for the advice. Are you actually my parents? You sure sound like them! ha...so many people have, rightfully so, advised me to think about my other (9) schools, but I just have a hard time making that leap, since i have had ND as my goal since i was really young. thank you so much for all your kind words...
