I intend to major in accounting
Posted on your other thread but I would say a Match to High Match. Much will depend upon the stats of the other accounting majors you are competing against.
I really appreciate the help. By any chance can you help me find out the stats?
@kbutter1234: Which stats are you referring? Last year SDSU had a 38.5% acceptance rate for Accounting with an average EI of 4124 (based on CC posted stats of admitted applicants). As the # of applicants continues to increase each, you can expect the competitiveness and EI’s to also climb.
@Gumbymom If I got a Call Grant for this university, does it increase my college acceptance?
No it does not increase your acceptance. Admissions and the financial aid office are separate plus the Cal grant can be used for any CA public university not just SDSU.
I checked on the webgrant website and it says it’s only applicable to SDSU (since that is the University I intend to stay in campus). The others I intend to stay with my parents. Will I still receive any grants from the other universities? Thank you!
If you are eligible for a Cal Grant, it can be applied to any CA public university. Living on campus vs with parents and commuting will also determine the amount you will be given.
I received early acceptance on December 11th
SAT: 1350
GPA: 4.12
Major: English Single Subject Teaching
My twin sister also applied, but did not receive early acceptance (but do not worry because they will be sending acceptance until March) her stats were
SAT: 1280
GPA: 4.12
Major: Accounting
I think you’ll have a larger chance of getting in if you change your major since accounting is a very impacted major. I’m not sure if they will let you change your major after applying but I would look into it (I’ve heard it is very easy to switch your major once being accepted on orientation day). Good luck!
Thanks for making me feel bad about my stats @zurita0404s. LOL Anyway I hope I’ll get in to SDSU and best of luck to your twin sister and congrats on your acceptance!!
When your other acceptances come, you will be given your award letters, if you applied for FAFSA.
If you don’t get into SDSU, you can contact the Cal Grant Office and ask to have your Cal grant transferred to the school you plan to attend.
Thank you @“aunt bea”
