SFS essay: I discuss my interest in frozen conflict resolution and post-conflict rehabilitation in the Caucasus and Black sea region. I talk about this interest evolving in me as a result of several conflict regions I grew up close to and the NGO's I worked with.

anybody, please? I really need your opinion, nothing long or elaborate.

Why do you want to transfer from Emory? Why did you decide to go to Emory in the first place? As a transfer student, you probably won’t need to send scores. Your essays, recommendations, and transcript will make/break you.

They do require standardized test scores as well as the High School Transcript. I am a Freshman and since I will have only a semester of work to show them, the older things still matter.

I want to transfer form Emory because SFS’s Int. Politics program is a better match for me. If I major in Political Science and get a regular bachelor’s degree, there are some unnecessary requirements that I think prevent me from emphasizing Int. Relations as much as I want. Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service is much preferred.

I chose to go to Emory because I could not apply anywhere far from Atlanta area. My father had a lung surgery and while still extremely ill, I as his only family member did not feel compelled to apply to any place too remote - Georgetown is pretty remote. Now he’s better and has the care he needs without me hanging around all the time.

Please people, chance me…

Very hard to say. I think they’d typically not like those SAT scores, but they might be willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. You definitely have a chance. Tell them an interesting story in the personal story section, but don’t make it look like you’re trying to sympathy your way in.

Do you think you could have gotten in as a freshman last year? G’town isn’t an easy school to get into. But they’ll like how committed you are to your choice of study and I think that goes a long way.

I always think that many transfer students are unhappy with their present spot and that’s why they want to leave. You, on the other hand, are transfering for a very positive reason. So, combining having a good gpa with your good stats (rank esp.), your language skills and wonderful employment positions, you seem to be a very strong candidate.

^well, boofreeresponse, should they not look at my ACT instead? I thought they chose only the highest score.
