What are my chances for the Ivies?

Hey guys, I’m a high school sophomore and I was hoping you could chance me for the Ivy League schools.

ACT (breakdown): 35 E(35), M(34), R(33), S(36)
SAT II: Haven’t taken any yet…
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 4.0
Weighted GPA (out of 6.0): Not quite sure…
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): Not quite sure…
AP (place score in parenthesis): Took AP Statistics and AP US History but I’m still waiting on those scores!

I’m one of the most advanced kids in my grade academically-wise. I am one of the few sophomores taking AP classes, and next year nearly every single one of my classes is an AP class.

Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.):

Based on what I got last October, I’m pretty sure I can plan on being a National Merit Semifinalist.
National Spanish Exam Gold Medalist
Science Olympiad State Medalist
National Honor Society
National AP Scholar

Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):

Mentorship in a lab at the world renowned hospital in my community for junior year. I plan on completing a paper and doing Science Fair. I would love to go to State and potentially even Intel!

I’m extremely active in leadership roles in my community.

I applied for the Minnesota Youth Council and plan on applying for the United States Youth Senate program. I’m also on…

[My county’s] Youth Commission (created an award-winning Public Service Announcement on suicide awareness)
Executive Committee of [my county’s] Youth Commission
-Co-Chair of Executive Committee

[My county’s] Environmental Commission student representative
[My county’s] Community Advisory Committee student representative

All my commissions take up a huge part of my time and mean a lot to me.

Science Olympiad (Varsity Letter)
Regional Medalist, State Medalist (especially good in anatomy)
Will most likely be a captain senior year.

I am a member of the National Spanish Honors Society and am a National Spanish Exam Gold Medalist.

I volunteer at the world renowned hospital in my community and will most likely be a Team Leader (one of the leaders of the program) next year.

For junior and senior year, I plan on being involved in…
STEM Society
Knowledge Bowl
Model United Nations
Speech Team
H.O.P.E. Club
KEY Club
LINK Crew
FIRST Robotics

I also plan on doing National History Day next year and could hopefully make it to State and even Nationals.

I also play piano.

Also, is there anything else I could be doing to increase my chances?

I’m a Caucasian female if that helps! Thanks guys!

You’re on the right track. I think you’ll make into a couple top 20 schools for sure.

I would not worry the slightest bit if you are in the top ten percent of your school. Your stats are fantastic. Do not let your grades slip, and I think you are pretty much guaranteed an acceptance to at least a few exceptional universities.

There are 8 distinct Ivy League colleges. Research them. Do you wanna be in the city at Columbia? Or in the middle of nowhere at Cornell? Do you want an open campus like Harvard? Or a closed campus like Brown?

while it is difficult tonsay for sure you will get in, you are definitely getting ateast one of the ivies if you keep up your grades and ecs. you already have so many leadership positions that truly show that younare fully committed to your outside school activities. As for rhe future ecs, i would suggest to select a few out of the many you’ve listed above, since junior year can get tough with all of the standardized testing and APs you will take. best of luck with everything!!!

It’s truly impressive the effort you are putting into all of your extracurriculars–the commissions program you’re involved in seems pretty cool! However, don’t burn yourself out. That’s all I gotta say.

I think you’re fine. ACT, GPA and ECs are fire. Make sure your Essays show the same qualities. I think you’ll get into at least 2 Ivys. Just do research on which you wanna go to and apply to a lot of them.
