What Are My Chances For These New York City Schools?

NYU (journalism and economics)
St. John's University
Baruch College
City College

UW GPA- 3.85-3.9.... W is a 4.45

Took all honors and AP classes in HS, with exception to electives which are only college prep.
ACT-28
SAT-1830 (1210 Math and CR)
Volunteered 223 hours
pres one club, founded one club/pres, treasurer one club, head volunteer at hospital, part of student gov, editor-in-chief of a website, featured in New York Times, national honor society and class advisor for my grade.

Essay and teacher recs should be good!

plan on double majoring in journalism and finance for the rest.

bump…

another bump haha

i only really know about NYU and I would say that your GPA is where it needs to be, but SAT is low. If you could raise to about 2000 you would have an excellent shoT

anyone else for the schools besides NYU?

My cousin got into St.Johns.
And it’s like the EASIEST school ever.
Seriously, I’m a soph right now, and my SAT scores are above what they want

St. John’s and City you’re 100% in. Seriously.

Baruch is more of a match, and NYU will be the hardest, but it’s probably like a high match for you. I think you’ll get into all four.

Baruch website has the 2010 stats not the 2011, how are the admitted test scores for them?

I think you have to get your standardized test scores up for NYU

For the others, you are probably fine.

SAT/ACT is far too low for NYU, especially their journalism school. You should shoot for at minimum a 2000/30, but more like a 2100/31 or 32. Why the discrepancy between your good GPA and the dismal test scores?
