Ucla
Ucsd
Carnegie Mellon
Umich
Upenn
University of washington
Georgiatech
Illinois-Urbana champaign
Cornell
Please let me know if I have any chance at any of these universities and any other universities that would suit me.
Thanks.
You probably won’t make it into most of the schools listed, your chances aren’t that great. You might make into Illinois Urbana Champaign and UCSD, but your chances are bleak for the remaining universities listed.
I think you have a decent chance at many of them, as your SAT and unweighted GPA are around the 50-75% range for admitted students, and your extracurricular activities are good. However, in some cases, such as UCB and UCLA, the huge number of applicants (and in particular, international applicants) negatively affects all applicants’ chances.
Uc Berkeley: High match
Ucla: High match
Ucsd: Match
Carnegie Mellon: Match
Umich: Match
Upenn: Reach
University of Washington: Match
Georgiatech: Match
Illinois-Urbana champaign: Match
Cornell: Low reach
Good luck, keep up the good work, and keep helping others in need.
@sandipops How did you calculate your GPA? aren’t grades given out in a scale of either 10 or 100?
Acceptance rates at many, if not most, of the universities you’ve listed can vary among departments, and so Engineering and Computer science are especially competitive . . .especially for Indian applicants. If you want to come to the US, I advise you to cast a wider net. Those are the most elite colleges, and difficult for everyone.
What is your intended major? International students are hard to chance. Your GPA is below the admission average for UMich which is the most important factor there, but it really depends on the grading of your school. Your SAT score is within the range of admission but certainly not outstanding. It is right around the admission average of UMich overall but OOS and international students would need stronger score. So UMich would be a low reach for LSA and a reach for CoE. UIUC would really depends on your intended major as you apply directly to the program. Most of the schools on your list are highly competitive while your GPA and test score is just mediocre among other applicants.
