Hello, I finished my UC app (applying to all 9 schools) & submitted it last week
My first picks are Berkeley and LA; however I’d appreciate some input on what UC seems like a likely admission for me.
A little about me:
Academics:
Right now, my current 9-12 GPA unweighted is 3.43 (3.6 weighted, I have 11 AP in total, w/ 5 community college classes). I got an ACT composite of 30 and a 1990 SAT.
EC
5 clubs, officer for NHS, and CSF, and founded 2 clubs. Hospital volunteer (60 hours upon app submit), church pianist & violinist. Project AWARE scuba dive volunteer.
This is pretty much what’s on my app. Other than this, I feel my personal statement was good, and taking one more ACT on the 12th.
Anyways, I’d appreciate any feedback on you guys think my chances are. My teachers and councilors disagree on what UC’s I’ll get into.
Thanks
Forgot to add under EC:
5 year sea cadet

What is your UC GPA? http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Your HS course rigor and leadership positions look good but your unweighted and weighted GPA along with your SAT/ACT are below the average for both UCLA/UCB and the majority of the other UC campuses.
UCLA/UCB: Reach
UCSD: Low Reach/Reach
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Low Reach
UCSC: High Match/Match
UCR/UCM: Match
3.6 weighted???
UC Merced - Match
UC Riverside - Match
UC Santa Cruz- High Match
UCSB - Reach
UCI/UCD - Big Reach
UCLA/UCB/UCSD - Sorry to break it to you but probably out of range
Okay, sorry, I just re-checked my transcripts, and I found that I typed in the wrong GPA on here.
According to my most recent transcript I have a 3.6 UW, and 3.8 Weighted. Also as of today, I have a 4.13.
Thanks!
Also, I guess my real question is do you guys think my GPA will stop a Berkeley or LA admit despite everything else?
@kimjongtim You’re not listening. We need your UC GPA. Use @Gumbymom 's calculator.
Oh, didn’t see that.
Anyways the calculator says 3.75
Senior year grades are not used in UC admission decisions unless you are a borderline applicant and are requested for a supplemental review which might include Mid-year transcripts. You want to maintain good grades your Senior year since your provisional admission is dependent upon doing well this year. Your UC GPA is still low, but outstanding essays could help your chances. Again this subjective so there are no guarantees. My chancing stands in the above post but I would love to proved wrong. Good Luck.
I also do not believe you have any realistic chance of admision to UCLA/UCB.
