I am a senior this year and am applying to the Nursing Science major for UCI and Nursing major for University of San Francisco (USF). I have almost finished my UC application for UCI but I am having trouble with my two personal statements. I also have not wrote the UCI supplementary essay for the Nursing program yet because I'm not sure how to respond to it. I also heard that the nursing programs at UCI and USF are extreme competitive. What are my chances? Please and thank you.
Btw I put undeclared as my alternative major for UCI. Would I have a better chance of being accepted into UCI?

Thank you for your honesty rladbwjdtl. I was thinking I have a slight chance at UCI and a higher chance at USF. The only problem is that I am applying to such an impacted major (nursing) so I was thinking this would lower my chances at these schools even more? However I did the Supermatch app here at College Confidential and got USF at my frist choice and was very surprised, and excited. I am still drafting my essays and improving them.
Also my friend told me that her friend got into UCI with a 1650 SAT and 3.5 GPA? But with an English major. -sigh-

I think your SAT scores are going to prove to be just too low to have a realistic chance of being accepted at UC Irvine. You might want to consider applying to the well regarded Nursing program at CSU Sacramento where your SAT scores would be more competitive and your chances of acceptance good.

^I agree with Lemaitre1, your stats are more alligned with a CSU and, even then, your SAT score is on the low side. Your class rank is good. They may also not be quite as competitive as UCI and USF for nursing. Best of luck to you!
