What are my chances for UC's and USC?

What are my chances for UCLA, UCB, UCI, UCSD, UCSB, UCD, USC, Stanford? Also, do I have any chances at an Ivy league school and any other match schools?

I think you are a match for UCI and UCSB, a low reach for UCD and UCSD and a high reach for UCB and UCLA. Your SAT score of 1940, while good for most UCs, is not high enough to make you competitive at the Ivies or Stanford. Whether you should retake or not depends on the breakdown of your scores on your previous attempt. If your Math and Writing scores were your lowest, you should seriously consider retaking since those two areas can be improved significantly with study and a lot of practice. If your CR was low, retaking is less likely to benefit you since CR skills are devoloped over a lifetime and little can be done to change them in a few months.

You may want to just submit your ACT scores if my assumption that 36 is the highest possible score on the ACT. That would mean that you earned 33/36 = 91.7% of the maximum possible on the ACT while you scored 1,940/2400 = 80.8% of the maximum number of possible points on the SAT.

^ I would agree with Lemaitre1 on school chances (with my remarks below), including just sending the ACT. Top-tier UC’s want you take as many AP’s as you can. If your school offered more but you didn’t take them this will hurt your chances for sure at UCB and UCLA, then UCSD and UCD. If your school did not offer any more AP’s, they probably aren’t going to penalize you for going to a less academic school. You have a strong ACT score. Don’t submit your current SAT scores. Stanford would be an extremely high reach for you, offering you almost no hope of acceptance. The Ivies are all high reaches like Stanford. Your chances at USC are better but again it hinges on how many AP’s your school offered. They too want to see applicants who challenged themselves with their courseload. Unless you have some noteworthy EC’s with awards you won’t be competitive with the applicant pools at the top-tier schools given your stats/resume. Good luck to you!

Berkeley - reach to high reach

UCLA - low reach

Not much to say, since the others pretty much covered all of it already…

Definitely retake SAT2s and the SAT and get better scores. If you do that, I’d say you actually have a pretty good shot at UCB/UCLA. Just make sure you do well on those personal essays.

Most likely acceptance at every UCs considering your strong ACT score, class rank, decent GPA, and in-state applicant status
