What are my chances for UF?

Hello! I am an incoming senior at a Florida school and I have the following stats:

Unweighted GPA: 4.0
UF GPA: 4.7
Rank: 3/502
SAT superscore (CR/M/W): 520/650/640
AP Class(AP Score): AP Psych(5), AP Geo(1), AP Calc AB(5), AP Stat(4), AP World(2), APUSH(2), AP Chem(3), AP Gov(n/a), AP Econ(n/a), AP Physics(n/a), AP Calc BC(n/a)… Haven’t taken the last 4 classes yet
Dual Enrollment classes: 9 (by the end of senior year)
ECs: National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, HOSA, DECA, ClubRecycle
I played tennis in 9th grade but then stopped.

Do I have a good chance? I know my GPA is really good, but I’m really worried about my test scores. I also don’t like the essay prompts this year either, so I might have a bad essay.

Just a tip: DE classes count the same for honors when it comes to GPA boost. With the lack of good EC’s and good test scores, you’re in trouble. Such a high GPA with such low scores definitely brings grade inflation into play. I don’t think your chances are very good (15% or so).

What will your major be? Do you have any type of leadership in any of your clubs? You should try to show how important your ECs are and how you have contributed or improved the club. That could show admissions officers how dedicated you are and it could compensate for the lack of ECs. Also, you still have time to retake the SAT if you’re not satisfied with your scores.

@tigerrocks13 are you sure about that? I thought DE courses have the same weight as AP classes???

@heavydirtysoul I want to major in business. Oh and I have an officer position in just one of my clubs. I was never the president or VP of any club though

Positive about it. AP and IB count the same, and DE/Honors count the same.

For what it’s worth, DE counts the same as AP in my central FL high school.

At multiple UF open houses and tours I have attended, admissions officers have assured me that they weight AP, IB, and Dual Enrollment courses equally.

Not true @GatorGirl98 … DE counts as half the credit when colleges, including UF, recalculate as far as I know. AP and IB count the same.

@tigerrocks13 Right off of UF’s website: “GPA: When computing a student’s high school GPA, the university only counts academic classes and adds extra weight to the most challenging courses: (1) an extra one-half grade point for all high school honors courses; (2) an extra full grade point for all AP, AICE, IB and Dual Enrollment courses. For questions regarding UF’s GPA computation, please contact the Office of Admissions at (352) 392-1365.”

Hmm. Then I’m wrong on that one. One of maybe 3 schools that does that… I take the L this time lol.
