What is your weighted GPA? Makes a big difference here…regardless…
UVA–high match
UNC–low reach (oos)
UMICH–match
may want some safeties…

I already have my safeties and idk my weighted gpa but i have taken 7 ap through junior year and 3 more next year. It univeristy of michigan ann arbor really a match since im oos?

Should get into at least 1-2. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. Any other opinions? Is there any way i could improve my chances?

Bump i would like more opinions

U Michigan/U Virginia- Match
UNC-Low Reach

Thanks for the response. I thought U Mich was a reach because it is oos? I guess im wrong. Any more opinions?

Bump for more opinions

Bump…

First of all looks like you know more than we do. Being INSTATE for UVA you should be a match. Why bother with Michigan and NC. Even if you want to go there for some weird reason, I think, you are match at Michigan and low reach at UNC. Nobody here knows how they are going to look at your GPA.

You’re a junior but you’re listing senior things (competing in states as a senior in DECA?). I’m confused there. Freshman year were there any C’s? UVA is not fond of those from what we were told. Your rigor looks good, your SATs should be ok if you’re in-state.UVA is tough in-state as well as OOS despite what you will hear on this forum. That said, you look to be in the ballpark assuming no Cs (I’d be nervous if there were, even in 9th grade). Good luck!

i had 2 c+ my freshman year and the rest were A’s . Each year my class rigor went up, sopohomore year i took 3 ap and now im taking 4 as a junior. I had no other C’s other than freshman year. The things i listed as a senior is what i know will happen next year. Since i made DECA state this year i know im going next year and stuff like that. I want to go to michigan because the business school (Ross) is the 2nd best undergrad business school in the country. The other schools are up there but still behind. Any other opinions?

Bump10char

You have a decent shot at UMich (LSA), although your GPA is on the low side. Since you’re interested in Ross, I’ll have to admit that your chances are very slim for the pre-admit program as it is very competitive.

I will just apply to ross after my freshman year since it is a 3 year program.

Have you looked at Vanderbilt, ranked higher than all three schools you mentioned, your Sat scores will make you competetive there especially if you do ED. Vanderbilt is Score sensitive and forgives low GPA.

What safeties are you looking at using? I’d say you’re fine for VT as a safety if that’s of interest to you.

Match for UVA
Good shot at UNC
Low reach for Ross though, but a match for LSA

Michigan LS&A is definitely not a match, it’s very much a reach. Some posters might be significantly underestimating the selectivity, but the median HS UW GPA for an enrolled LS&A student is 3.90 according to the most recent statistics[/url”>http://www.lsa.umich.edu/UMICH/facstaff/Home/Office%20of%20the%20Dean/LSA%20Facts/2012LSAFactSheet.pdf]statistics. Out of state status and a significantly below average GPA makes admission unlikely.

UNC is a reach for similar reasons to Michigan.

UVA is probably a match. You are instate, but they are pretty competitive.

In my opinion, if you get into UVA, just forget the other two. UVA is going to be a heck of a lot cheaper and its just as good in academics.
