What are my chances for UPenn Early Decision?

Hello,
I'm new here, so I don't really know exactly how this works. I assume I just list out my achievements and stuff. I'm currently a Junior (graduating 2011 of course).

Ok so academically...

I have a very rigorous courseload. I will be taking 7 APs my senior year (Two junior year and 1 my sophomore year), so I will have 10 AP classes finished when I graduate.

US History, US Gov, Chemistry, Biology, Physics B, Calc BC, Macro Econ, Micro Econ, English, and Spanish.

My grades aren't too bright in my opinion.

Freshman year I had a B in english 1st semester and a B+ in english 2nd semester.

Sophomore year I had a 4.0 both semesters

Junior year first semester I got a B+ in british literature (I may get another for 2nd semester unless i really strap down and get to work.)

My school makes A-'s into 4.0s instead of 3.7s, so my school says I have a 3.91 G.P.A when actually I think i have a 3.7 or 3.8 (recalculated). I do have quite a bit of A-s, which is why my GPA dips from the 3.91 to 3.7-3.8 range (obviously).

Today I found out I got a 34 on the ACT (33 english/32 math/34 reading/35 science and an 8/12 on the essay [i BSED this one i guess haha]). Previously, I received a 32 on the March ACT (32/35/29/31 10/12 essay). So I guess I have a pretty decent score.

So extracurricularly...

I will be on three varsity sports my senior year (tennis/cross country/track)

I am currently a Captain (as a junior) for the Varsity Track Team.

I am an Eagle Scout

I am a Drum Major in the Marching Band. (basically a captain of the band).

I was section leader for our Marching Band, and if all goes well, I will be section leader of the symphony band.

Our saxophone quartet (that I have been in since a sophomore and that I will lead my senior year) has received Division I ratings at State festival.

I have also received Division I ratings at State festival.

I have 4 years of science olympiad (could be captain of that too) and 4 years of quizbowl.

I am in the National Honor Society.

Spanish Club for one year ( i don't think i should even mention this because i wasn't committed as a freshman or sophomore).

Teacher Recs won't be stunning i guess. Both will say that I have fabulous potential and that I have matured, but they won't say I'm the hardest worker.

I'll try my best to write a stunning essay myself. I'm really good at writing bold "pick me, im the best" kind of essays.

Oh and if it helps, both my parents and older sister are doctors and my younger sister graduated from Penn in 2008.

If not Penn early decision, where else would I have a good shot of making it? I come from an academically competitive high school in Michigan. Most kids in my school usually get into the University of Michigan or Michigan State University.

Also this probably hurts my chances of getting in: I'm Asian american (sinhalese).

Thanks for any help you might have!

How did your younger sister graduate two years ago? You have really good EC’s and scores, but Penn is always impossible to tell.

sorry i wasn’t specific.

My oldest sister is graduating from med school this year, and my youngest sister (she is 22 haha) graduated from penn two years ago.

Is penn really that random? i heard they accept their “average” applicants in the Early Decision process. I don’t know for sure of course.

OH I get it now haha. Dumb… Yeah, Early Decision you have a better chance I know a guy with worse stats who got in.

Unless you get recruited in for one of the sports, I’m having a tough time seeing you in.

any other people have any help?

As long as you aren’t going for Wharton I would say you stand a really really good shot.

does UPenn early decision offer financial aid? I heard that UPenn’s early decision doesn’t.

bumppppppppppppp
