I'm a bit concerned about my SAT scores... the Math and Writing are usually within my goal, but I falter under the insane vocabulary in the CR sections. That section appears to hold me back for the SAT.

I really liked UPenn and will most likely apply ED to this school.
Do I stand a chance at getting in?

Thanks!

Anyone? Please offer feedback

I didn’t include alot of the other things (i.e. interview, reccommendations, etc) as I am only a junior and open to possibilities.

Course Load (9th): Honors World History, Honors English I, Honors Geometry, Honors Spanish II, Honors Topics in Science

Course Load (10th): Honors Modern World History, Honors Humanities, Honors Algebra II, Honors Spanish III, Honors Biology

Course Load (11th): Honors Humanities, Pre-AP Spanish V, AP Statistics, U.S. History, AP Chemistry, Honors Pre-Calculus

Estimated Course Load (12th): AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Biology, AP American Government, Honors English III, Honors Special Chorus

Thanks

People who “chance” you on this website can only offer their own biased opinion - none of us work in admissions and none of us can offer you an accurate answer. You’ll just have to apply and find out! Best of luck.

Better question, then…
Do I appear to be qualified in all academic areas -including: Grades, Test Scores, Course Work, and ECs for the typical Penn student?

Thanks Again!

Are you planning on applying for CAS, SEAS, Wharton, or Nursing? or a dual degree program? The admission rates for these schools differ a bit. If you are applying for CAS, you have a pretty good chance! A 2100 with your GPA and extracuricular + applying ED should give a you a good chance.

Thank you for your input!
CAS = College of Arts/Sciences, correct?
If so, that is where I wish to apply Early Decision.

I appreciate your opinion… I’m glad that Penn really looks at those extracurriculars. :)

Anyone else with an opinion?

How big is your HS class?

300 people, perhaps?
Most of the school is very competitive… The top 10% are all fantastic students.

Thanks

Would like a few more opinions, if possible. I just had my “Junior Meeting” today and I am currently ranked 2/250+. I have been working out what I may have gotten on the SAT (my first time) and I think it will be around 2050-2150, depending on how lucky I was on the curve.

Thanks for the opinions in advance!

Please note I did not really list all of my awards/EC’s in completion.

I think the best option for you is to see past Results threads.
See the profiles of Accepted, Rejected and Deferred students and then you will know for certain you match ‘a typical Penn student’ academics wise.

As opposed to what I had thought I got, I had only earned about a 2000 on the SAT, first time. I plan on taking it 1, if not 2 more times. Worst case scenario, is a 2000 score an “immediate rejection” for applicants to Penn? Thanks for any information :)

Also in May i’m taking Chemistry, Biology M, and Math IIC subject tests.
