Common App essay: really good i think, shows a lot about my maturity process in my religious community.

Rec's: i think good. Have one from econ teacher( i was one of three recs he wrote this year ) and other from apush teacher. GC knows me really well. Have additional rec from rowing coach that will be good.

If you can chance me for Wash U, i would be happy to chance back. Good luck to all applicants for class of 2019.

It may be a match

Any other opinions?

bump

a Match but make sure you apply to other colleges because many kids with the same credentials will apply and not everyone can get in. To stand out tie your EA to your degree because kids that list a load of EA that have nothing to do with their major puts you on bottom of pile until they look at other applications or worse waiting list or worse yet rejected.

I’d say it’s a reach, but not a completely unrealistic one. Your ACT falls at the low end of their median range. Your grades and ECs are solid, and they are known to look favorably on applicants who show them love by applying early (especially if no FA is involved). Saying that, you still fall below average for WUSTL admissions . . . but so do half of all accepted students. Apply, but don’t set your heart on going there. Maybe try to get an application out to Tulane for non-binding EA there. That way, if you don’t get good news from WUSTL, you might have a decent back-up and won’t have to worry about applying to loads of safeties. If not Tulane, find some other rolling or non-binding admissions schools.

@woogzmama‌ his ACT was a 34, isn’t that 75th percentile?

I apologize for my careless response. I looked at the first composite ACT score, and missed the second one. With a 34, I’m inclined to say that WUSTL EA is probably more of a high-match.

75th percentile, ED, and legacy I think make for a very strong chance you’ll get in. Honestly would be surprised if you didn’t.

Crew might help at WashU, too.

Thank you all for the responses. Should i send SAT 2’s as additional support? I have a 720 on US and am getting back my Math 1 score tomorrow. Should be mid to high 700.

Got back Math 1. Received a 700 so not submitting SAT 2’s for WUSTL but will be submitting for UVA.

You have a great chance, just make sure your essay is stellar.

Officially applied ED tonight. Also applied EA to UVA and U Michigan and rolling to IU- direct admit to Kelley.

most def. a match. get your essays to really stand out and I say you’re in :)

are you taking sat subject tests??

I did. Got a 700 on math 1 and 720 on us but didnt send as they dont require them.

Chances look REALLY good. Legacy won’t really help, but showing interest does. Applying ED and visiting is how you do it! I think your activities aren’t as solid, but your test scores are. If you want someone to look over essays for your other schools, or offer reassurance for the schools to which you’ve already submitted, let me know. I was accepted at wustl last year. Unfortunately, I did not receive enough aid, and now, am at Penn. Best of luck, and message me with any essays or questions! I hope you get in :D

Any thoughts about chances for UVA EA and Michigan EA with preferred admission to Ross?

High match, I think. Your numbers are definitely right where you need them and you have some interesting ECs, but as always with awesome schools there are no promises! I think that ED and all your demonstrated interest will push you into the safe zone, though, but I’m not an admissions officer… best of luck, I hope we’ll both be down in St. Louis next fall! :)
