My dream school is UW but I feel that is unlikely due to my low test scores so I was thinking Western Washington. I currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Currently a Senior starting with a 3.3 unweighted GPA.
20 on the ACT. I have taken the test again but I feel the score might be the same.
Involved with a multi media community youth program.
Involved with a community radio station.

Taking AP Bio and AP Psych and community college credit English and Math.
Had three jobs since I been 14.

I also am taking the SAT this week. I mention in my essay of my interest in the neuroscience program and wanting to get involved with the universtiy's radio station. Sorry for any grammar errors, I'm typing on my phone.

3.3 is enough for Western Washington especially since you’ve had a relatively rigorous schedule but 20 is on the low side - try to bump it up to a 22-24 if you can. Some people do better on the SAT, too.

Another option: UW Bothell for your first year, work very hard, get excellent grades, and transfer to U Dubb?

Question: have you run the Net Price Calculators on each website? They’d tell you how much you can expect to pay. OOS costs a lot of money - $40,000 total OOS cost of attendance for UW!
If financial aid is an issue, you’d be better served applying to private colleges since they don’t distinguish between In State and Out of State for tuition purpose, however they do value students who bring in geographical diversity (ie, OOS from states they don’t have many applicants of). If you can look further than Washington, and look to the Midwest, you’d have tons of options.

Eh of course it’s a really good school but I want to be able to explore other places, also in the circumstances I’m in; I might get some serious financial aid. So why not take the opportunity.
