Ok so my two dream schools are tied between Stern School of Business at NYU and the Marshall School of Business at USC but probably more leaning towards stern due to the business in entertainment minor, I would be applying for a Marketing major
- My cumulative GPA weighted (I will explain so bear with me) is a 3.94
- My current SAT is 1370 (but I am taking again this saturday and hoping to break 1400 this time, anticipating to score around 1450-ish).
- I have a really solid essay main essay and really solid supplementals
- I filled out and additional information section that covers why my GPA was lagging to hard (I was diagnosed with T1D at the second semester of freshman year and that combined with my workload at the time ate me alive)
- I took my diagnosis and used it as a catalyst to live healthier and found "the Diabuddies Club" in late junior year (basically diabetes awareness and education, alongside fundraising and service hours)
- My standalone GPAs for Freshman year was 3.2 (yikes), Sophomore year was 3.8, Junior year was 4.5, and this year I am leaning towards a 4.6 so far, so I have a very strong incline on my transcript (which I am proud of)
- *** Very Important - I have started two businesses during my sophomore year (one of which is still ongoing) and have had some very big mentions from them (even interactions with Adidas)
- I run a big segment on entertainment for my school's morning show that airs every week
- I am trilingual and on the verge of being a full on polyglot
- I have racked up 120 service hours
- I have interviews with Marshall School of Business and I have toured both schools along with going back and forth with admission officers of both of them through email.
- My main concern is that my school wouldn't let me take any AP classes whatsoever, so that not only screws up my transcript a little bit, but it also bumps my GPA down a little bit
How do my current and future odds look for Stern and Marshall? I might end up doing ED2 to Stern but I am not sure yet.
I am currently sending out applications now and have just started the Q2 of my senior year in high school.
