What are my chances getting into any Cal State or UC's

I wanted to know what Cal States, UC's and good out of state colleges I can get into. I have a 2.7 GPA, 1790 SAT Score, 29 ACT Score, 1310 SAT Subject Test Score. Also ive passed both APUSH and AP Lang exams and I'm taking 4 more AP Classes next year.

P.S. I know ive messed up in High School and that my GPA is very low but please give honest answers.

considering your high ACT score, I think you definitely can get into most Cal State Schools. Due to your low GPA though, I think it would be really hard to get into any UC schools. Possibly you could get into UC Riverside, exc. It also depends I guess on your ec’s. But good luck! Can you chance me now?

What about UC Merced and UC Santa Cruz? Also i never studied for the ACT, SAT or SAT Subject Test, Ive been studying this time around and im going to take each of them one more time.

I honestly know nothing about UCM or UCSC, or most of the UC’s for that matter. But you should get into most Cal states in my opinion. You can use the following link to see average test scores, GPA, etc.

Some of the CSUs are impacted (CSUSD, CSUSJ, CSULB and Cal Poly SLO) and if you are not from their service area a GPA considerably higher than the minimum CSU GPA of 2.0 may be required to be considered for admission. Last year my oldest son applied as an engineering major to CSU San Jose. He had a GPA of 3.0 and a combined CR and Math SAT score of 1260 (CSUs do not look at the writing score) but was not admitted since he graduated from a high school in the CSU Sacramento service area. The admissions office said he would have been admitted if we had been from the San Jose service area. You should check to see if the CSUs you are interested in are impacted or not since if you do not come from their service area a 2.7 GPA will probably not be high enough to get you admitted.

Well im in Riverside so where can i get into? And what about the UC’s

CSUs are tricky because they cater to the students in their given cities/service area. CSULB, Cal Poly, and SDSU are top tier CSUs are heavily impacted. I think you’d have a better chance at getting into UCM than those CSUs. Apply to other CSUs though as well as the bottom tier UCs: UCM, UCR, and UCSC. You’re going to have to raise your GPA to have a chance at those schools.
