I bleed blue and gold and I have since I was six. I would give anything to go to Notre Dame but my transcript is lackluster. Once the dust settles I will have around a 3.55 unweighted GPA with a very rigorous course load of honors and AP classes, and a 31/32 ACT. I have been in football, and FBLA my whole high school career just founded my school’s Debate Club, and became NHS president. I volunteer at a hospital once a week and have done spotty volunteer work otherwise. I rank in the top 10% of my class and am generally respected by my peers and loved by my teachers as I am described as having a bottomless drive. I have always wanted to help people and my two recent surgeries because of football helped me see what I need to do. I want to give kids the ability to do what they love through orthopedic surgery and I view my surgeon as my role-model. I have my eyes set on ND yet I have no clue if I can get into it… I’m not asking for reassurement, just an unbiased, realistic assessment of my profile to give me an idea of where I stand getting into my dream schooL.
high reach…
3.55 is too low. many other people take rigorous classes and get 4.0 GPA’s
You seem to have a lot of dreams and hopes but that can only take you so far…
Unless you have a very compelling hook, it probably is a very uphill climb.
Thanks guys! I know that and it’s kinda been haunting me for a while would having a very strong connection help at all?
Here are the usual suspects for a legitimate hook: recruited athlete, URM with a compelling story, or Vet with compelling story, or a prominent legacy connection.
