Should I retake Math level 2? Any tips for essays?

No. Don’t bother - you look really good. Just make sure your app is polished and ready.

Chances are lousy getting into any of these schools regardless. You have a better shot for Cornell or Notre Dame, but unfortunately, that’s not saying much. The GPA is going to be below average for Yale and CMU for CS.

The good news is with your chosen major. With computers, it doesn’t make a bit of difference where you get your degree. This is an industry driven entirely by experience. You’ll be fine regardless of which school you attend.

Congratulations on your achievements. No need to retake math 2 IMO…focus on getting good grades and completing your apps.

Good luck.

Thanks for the guidance with helping me figure out whether or not I should retake math 2! Would anyone like to help chance me for these schools? Is it likely that I will get into one, if any of these schools? (BTW I also have a bunch of safeties that I am almost sure I will be getting into in case anyone is worried)

None of those schools are likelies for anybody, although I’m least familiar with Notre Dame. But you’ve got a shot, so it’s worth applying.

Bump…
I know a lot of people already answered, but I would love for more people to give me a percent chance at getting into any one of these schools or the combined percent chance of getting into any of the schools (like the percent chance I will be admitted into 1 or more of the 5 schools).
Thanks!

I would retake the Math 2 as 750 is 58th percentile. There will be 1,000 of apps for these top colleges with 800s and applying for the same computer science major. The competition is fierce.

If you are a senior, when would you take it again in December? And would the colleges get the score in time anyways.?

I would say your chances at these colleges are about the same as the acceptance rates. Being URM and legacy at Yale might help a little but your GPA is a little low and you are applying to one of the most competitive majors.

Make sure to apply to several match and safety colleges.

Good luck.

your GPA will hold you back more than your Math 2 score. I wouldn’t bother retaking it- If you won’t get in with a 750 then you won’t get in with a 770 or 780 either. But I think you have a shot so go ahead and apply. But you def need some more likely schools.
