I've been stressing about college lately and I'm only a sophomore. I seriously can't stop thinking about my future. I want to attend either UCLA (which I know is really competitive) or maybe UCI or UCSD

Freshmen year
-Had a 3.9 GPA
-Was in Leo/Interactive Club, where I do volunteer service
-Played Field Hockey
-Went to the National Leaders State Conference at Princeton
-ranked 39/702

I could've had a higher rank, but I slacked off last marking period of Freshmen year. BAD IDEA. I really regret being lazy, I thought that since summer was over here, I can just "loosen up" -.-

Then summer before sophomore year started- I participated in the People to People Student Ambassador program, I was in a delegation with 43 students and we traveled to Europe, it was an amazing trip, met great people. After that, I spent the rest of my summer making money from babysitting, 5 days a week, and my teacher said that means I'm responsible.

Sophomore Year

I got into drama and boys, so my GPA went down to a 3.8, but I still have two more marking periods left of school, which I'm taking really serious now, and I have all A's and 1 B so far.
-Manager of my Field Hockey Team
-Representative to Student Council for the Class of 2013 club
-French Club (I'm involve in fundraisers)
-Leo/Interactive Club (community service)
-competitive swimmer for my school swim team this year, but then I quit 3 weeks before the season ended, it was too time consuming and my graders matter more to me.
-currently ranked 47/539

So even though the 3rd marking period for school didn't end yet, I got my interim today and I have all A's a B so far, even my US History 1 AP class is an A, which I'm really happy about, since my teacher is tough and likes to stack so much homework for us.

I got called down to my counselor last week to pick out my junior year classes
-I'm taking Environmental Science AP, English 3 AP, US History 2 AP, Pre-Calc Honors, and Photography 1.

My counselor said if I get straight A's throughout my whole junior year, and the first two marking periods of senior year (because my school freezes grades for seniors after the 2nd marking period to calculate their GPA and ranking), then he guarantees me that I will be able to make it to the Top 25.

I know junior year matters a lot, and nothing's gonna back me down. Not even drama or boys this time. I'm really serious.

I'm planning to take the same clubs for junior year.

I got a volunteer service job at my local hospital when summer of '11 comes, from June to August, I'm volunteering 4 times a week from 9am to 1pm.

I'm from New Jersey, and I know tuition is going to expensive.
Why do I want to go to school in California?
-I like to be independent, I feel as if I depend on my parents and friends a lot, and besides, I like doing things by myself, it feels good ( well to me yea)
-I get into so many arguments with my mom, it's really ridiculous. She pressures me into majoring in law or medicine, but I'm not even 1% interested in any of these subjects. I want to be a dancer, I started dancing when I was 6, then I stopped at 11, and I'm 16 and I recently started going back to dancing. It's my passion, it makes me happy, and I really want to pursue it. It's my perfect escape from reality, school, and the stress I go through (because of school) I'm into hip hop actually. I know UC Irvine have a well-known dance crew named Kaba Modern and if I ever do get accepted to Irvine, I will audition for the crew.
-I'm tired of the east coast, I want to explore California, it's my favorite state, I remember I went on vacation with my fam. and everything about the state was stunning, from the palm trees, to the weather, to the beach, and the people. It's amazing. I live in the suburbs anyway, I want to escape in a way.......
-I don't really know if I'm gonna miss my parents, who knows, I can say I won't miss them, but I might end up missing them, but I won't be homesick or anything. I want to be away trying to get a taste of being independent and doing well in school.

I'm leaning towards UCI, but they say it's boring and I should stick to UCSD because it's more "livelier"
I guess it depends, like if you're from the suburbs, you want to go to college at a city, you get me?

Anyway, enough of this, lolololol. I'm really focused at school right now and I take my after-school clubs seriously, including the things I get involved with.

I recently got a letter from Stanford University if I would be interested to join their law program for their summer high school program, but I'm not trying to major in law, K? In my opinion, it's boring, no offense, I want to dance, I want to do what I keep on loving. We only have one life to live, so we might as well make the most out of it, right? I know it's been five years of not dancing, but I've read the bios of some Kaba Modern dancers, half of them started dancing in high school or their Freshmen year in college, if it's possible for them, then it's possible for anyone, as long as you're devoted, passionate, and happy at doing what you love, then ANYTHING'S POSSIBLE.

Okay, so is it possible for me to attend UCLA, UCI, or UCSD? I know I should just focus now on my grades and other stuff, I still have two years of high school left, but I'm really worried about college =/
