I applied to UCSD Jacobs school of engineering from out of state The results on whether or not I got in should be coming out in a few weeks. I just wanted to post of my stats to see how they compare with other people who have gotten in.

I have been on the high honor roll every semester of my high school career and have received four academic varsity letters.

I have volunteered at three different hospitals over the summer since starting high school and hold a regular volunteer position at my local library.

I have held three different summer jobs since starting high school.

I am involved in the mentoring program at my school, my school's community service organization, my school's National Honor Society chapter, my school's Spanish Honor Society chapter, sign language club, diversity task force, and a member of the executive committee for the statewide diversity conference that is held at my school annually.

I have also run on my schools cross country team, though I wasn't varsity level, and I dance Indian classical dance.

If anyone has the team to read and respond, thanks for taking the time to do so and sorry for making it quite wordy.

looking mainly at your GPA and ACT score (btw UC’s dont’ superscore), you have a 50-50 chance. but if they look closely at your EC’s and other accomplishments, i am sure you have a good chance! but UC’s are known to look mainly at GPA’s and SAT/ACT scores, with little attention towards other parts of your resume. just my two cents…

I keep hearing that UC schools look at your unweighted GPA, so that may hurt you.
But your extracurriculars and the difficult classes you are taking is impressive.

Your personal statements are a important factor to UCSD, so I guess it may depend on your essays too.

I am nervously waiting for a response, just like you! Good luck to you :)

Hey by looking at your stats I think you have a really good chance. I myself only had 1850 SAT and 3.9 UC (only A-G classes so no PE And stuff) GPA and I was like class rank 39/450, I had some extracurricular and I think good essay. I had shown improvement though from 3.1-3.8-4.2 GPA from soft more to junior year. I only took 3 AP’s junior year and this yeah I am taking 5.

Thanks you guys for responding, your input was really helpful. @stephiesm, Good luck to you too! @clawkz, Are in-state applicant or out-of-state? @mrhectorramirez, Are you in-state or out-of-state? Also, how did you find out you were accepted (phone, email, etc)?

@photolover12 : Im an in-state applicant. They called me and other of my peers and said “congratulations, you have been early-admitted into ucsd”. They also said we will soon recieve emails. But dont worry! you will surely get in! your stats are great.
