So i am a in 11th grade. my gpa is low... very low.. a 2.3 to be exact. i'm in the 73% of my class and my psat scores were not good. really what are my chances at getting into a nursing program? i had a really hard time in high school my family and i went though alot. i put zero effort into my work the first 3 years of high school and now i really trying to fix the mess i made. is there any way to rasie my gpa over the summer? i didnt fail anything so i cant retake a class.

Best bet with those scores is to go to either go to a lower level state school with nursing (this depends on your state/ I don’t even know if these exist where you are). Best alternative is to go to community college one year, get your GPA up, and then try to transfer into a state school or something with a nursing program.

All i can say is good luck. Unless you can get a full ride somewhere because you are better off going to a 2 year local community college, excelling there, and then transferring to a prestigious school with a decent nursing program. To my knowledge, neglecting the first three years of highschool isn’t the smartest idea and it is hella hard to pull back up. (talking from experience, but not in as much as a pickle as you are, sorry :[ )

well im screwed… but thanks for answering hopefully i figure something out i will prolly end up at a community college for a little. i just sucks i know im smarter then what my grades show. i wish i knew the things i know now when i started high school i did alot of growing up… but that life i guess thanks again for answering

Don’t worry, going to a community college is no shame. All you need to do is rebound from your current situation, and graduate through CC as fast as possible. Transferring to a good school is your best option.
