What are my chances...i know its boring, sorry

SAT I: 710 M, 630 V (retake in December)
SAT II’s: 630 MIIc, 710 Chem, 720 Writing
GPA: 4.14 weighted (4.22 senior yr so far); Rank: 6/80 (small, really tough college prep. private school)
ACT: 30 (converts to the EXACT same SAT score…it annoys the hell out of me)

AP: Chemistry (4); Lit and Comp (3)
Senior courses:
Early American Lit, Film Lit, AP Biology, AP Art History, AP Calculus BC, Conceptual Physics, Latin 5

My counselors really liked my essays, so those are okay, I’m a National Merit semifinalist, student council representative, math club secretary, Mu Alpha Theta honor society, National Honor Society, Latin National Honor Society, Key Club, volunteer at Manatee Memorial Hospital (200+ hrs), 400+ hrs so far in all volunteer services, National Youth Leadership Forum Medicine (washington d.c.), State Champions Varsity Tennis 2004, district champs. 10-12, regional champs. 11-12, Tutor students at my school in math, science (job), district champion academic team (10th-12th)

So, thats some of my stuff, I have awards of excellence and things like that, but these are the major extracurriculars and awards. Also, I’m Indian from Florida- want to do medicine, trying for those programs too…i’d appreciate the honesty…retook sat’s december, hoping for 1400+…so, please, any advice, or any idea on how i’ll fare in applying to brown would be great…THANKS!

Not really sure, but have you talked to the tennis coach at brown? If your HS team was state champion (of a tennis state!), you might be D1 material and that could be a good boost.

one of my friends already got in for tennis, im not ranked 1-5 in school or anything, no private training, so i dont think tennis will really help at all, but do you know if a lot of people get in with 1400's-1430's and my ec's...cuz im just worried

If it's any comfort, my brother got in with a 1380. Don't sweat the SATs; they don't matter as much as you might think, although they do still count.

Do you happen to have your brother's other info?

Umm, some of it.

SATs: 1380
GPA: Around 94-95 (I think)
Rank: 4/58

3 APs (only ones my school offered at the time)

First semester senior year, he took 4 courses at Colgate (only one for credit)

He was a great violinist and taught it for 3 years I think

Got into Brown, Dartmouth (double legacy), Holy Cross, Carnegie Mellon, and Tufts. Waitlisted at Rice.

Went to Brown (the obvious choice, ha)

You're going to the same school as your brother? There's no way I would do that.

Well, we'll only be there for a year at the same time, and it's a pretty big place. Plus, he's a cool guy, and we barely speak when we're both at home, so I don't think it'll be any great stretch.

yeah, im applying to dartmouth and brown as my only two ivies, and im applying to tufts as well (no legacies though :(, nothing like that...i have a rec. letter from a doctor who is a chair at NIH, but i dont think that'll help )
