what are my chances if i do THIS

is it ok for me to use 2 senior year teachers for my college recs? I plan to apply regular to all my schools (8 schools total. again, none early). These teachers won't know me in any regard other than senior year classes. So, is this a gamble or is it ok?

the alternative is using 1 senior year teacher and 1 "teacher" from junior year. the junior year teacher never actually taught a class for me and was not an official advisor...just someone i saw a whole lot of and whom I talked to a whole lot. he knows me well and was kind of a coach for an extracurricular activity. would this combo work better? or am i required to have 2 academic teachers only?

You can use any teacher you wish for recommendations. Obviously, it is preferable to have someone who knows your work (and you) well enough to speak about you with some detail. Someone who won't just say, "He seems like a nice guy", but rather say, "His writes with precision and detail, completes exemplary work on a timely basis, and impresses all with his insights in class. Examples of this are.....", etc.

Mine were from 2 Senior Teachers...I should have asked for more lol. One was horrible and just listed things about me and was really monotone.

The other was the best recommendation I ever thought possible. I seriously think that someone at Harvard would take me if they only saw that letter. It is a thing of pride for my parents and I and we really think that it helped me with admissions.

Conclusion : ask all 3! One of my friend asked like 5, 6, or 7 people (can't remember) and it turned out to be a smart thing because she got to choose the best...
