I feel like I could have a CHANCE because I have all of those.” No one gets into MIT with a 20 ACT. End of story. Stanford will go that low, but only for the most extremely talented athletic recruits, not just for someone who “has sports.” Unless you forgot to mention that you are the top ranked HS All-American quarterback in the nation, you need to put MIT, Stanford and anything close to that level of selectivity completely out of your mind. College use GPA and standardized test scores because they are the best predictors of your chances of success at their institution. What do you think an ACT of 20 predicts at HYPMS, and others of their ilk? To have a chance, you should be looking at schools where your scores put you at least close to the 25th percentile.
