What are my chances?Im appying to Stanford, MIT, GA Tech,U of Illinois,UC Berkley,Syracuse, CNU

“What are some more things you recommend …”

This has been said before, and you are not listening: FIND SCHOOLS THAT MAKE SENSE FOR YOU.

I was thinking Syracuse.

Yes, Syracuse appears to be a good school to look at as a reach at this point, unless you are able to practice and better your score; also try the SAT as some people do better on one versus the other.

Then the next step is to build your list of target and safety schools with Syracuse as a reach. Remember, there are tons of great schools that aren’t Ivies - there are many more successful people that graduate from non-Ivies than Ivies.

Think of it, if the only successful people came from the Ivies, we would have a lot of empty CEO desks as there are far too many companies out there as compared to Ivy graduates!

@Kodak “I have seen RARE occasions where a student or two might get into a school like that with similar stats like me, but they also have sports, extra curriculars, and Leadership. I feel like I could have a CHANCE because I have all of those.” No one gets into MIT with a 20 ACT. End of story. Stanford will go that low, but only for the most extremely talented athletic recruits, not just for someone who “has sports.” Unless you forgot to mention that you are the top ranked HS All-American quarterback in the nation, you need to put MIT, Stanford and anything close to that level of selectivity completely out of your mind. College use GPA and standardized test scores because they are the best predictors of your chances of success at their institution. What do you think an ACT of 20 predicts at HYPMS, and others of their ilk? To have a chance, you should be looking at schools where your scores put you at least close to the 25th percentile. Keep in mind an ACT 20 = aprox 950 SAT. Good word doc list of schools and their 25th 75th percentile SAT numbers here: https://■■■■■■■.com/lb5w4bb
