I'm looking at St. Mary's of California, UMass Amherst, Catholic Uni. of America, Simmons College, Emerson College, Hampshire College, and Northeastern University.

I'm a white female in MA.

I'm going to be a senior ('10) this year.

Weighted GPA at a Catholic high school: 3.779
Haven't calculated it unweighted yet.

SAT:
CR: 710
M: 590
W: 740

I'm not proud of my junior year AP scores:
Physics: 1
US His.: 2
I'm taking AP Calculus as a senior.

Extracurricular activities:
National Honor Society since sophomore year to the present. The earliest we can get into NHS is in sophomore year.
MassMutual Academic Achiever (anyone with a 3.0+ GPA is one in my city) since freshman year.
Peer Mediator since junior year.
Chorale/concert choir/liturgical choir since freshman year.
Community Service Council leader starting senior year.
Color guard member in sophomore year only.

I've been singing (in choirs) all my life. I'm planning on majoring in biology and getting into the preveterinary medicine program.

Honestly, if I can get into my local UMass Amherst state uni. I'll be okay with it.

I've had a hard time all through high school until pretty much the end of junior year because of my depression, OCD, and anxiety. I was hospitalized last spring for suicidal ideation and missed two weeks of school. It was difficult to make up all my work but my teachers were kind about it. Still, I got quite a few Cs and even a D, which marred the numerous As and Bs I've been getting all through high school, pretty much. I'm only "getting over" my mental health issues now after I've been on meds and been seeing a therapist for the past six years. Anyway, so that's my sob story. By the way, how do I let my schools know about my issues? Should my guidance counselor mention it in my recommendation? Or should I discuss it in my essays?

Are there any other schools I should look at that I have a good chance of getting into?

Also, I really like St. Mary's College in CA but I live in MA. Do I have a greater chance of getting in because I live on the opposite coast? By the way, my family's income is about $100,000 per year, but my parents have three of us kids and we have a lot of expenses (both of my sisters are in college) so I'm going to need a lot of financial aid for pretty much anywhere I apply.

Thanks.
