Hello! I am a junior. My weighted gpa is about 3.6-3.7. I took Ap world and stat last year. I am taking Ap us, physics b and comp science. I am planning to take ap econ, cal AB and physics c next year. So what are my chances in georgia? I would like to attend georgia tech. UGA is my second choice. Will colleges like the fact that i am taking hard classes? My friend takes all honors classes and has a 4.0 weighted gpa(no APs). He said colleges like high GPAs more than AP classes(personally i think honors classes are not much different than regular classes). What are my chances? I hope all my hard work won't fail me :(

You stand an alright chance.

DO you think i should take some easy classes next year to boost up my gpa a little?

Colleges certainly look at GPA first, but if you are taking easy classes and have a 3.6-7, you won’t get into schools like GT. Academic rigor is an important component of your overall application, so I’d recommend not taking easy classes.

If your goal is GT, aim for a 2100 on your SAT and a 700+ in Math.

As of now, you look good for both GT and UGA. Keep going and good luck.

Do you live in GA? Either way, I think you’ll be in at both.
At every colllege seminar I’ve been to, they said rigor is more important than getting good grades. They say that they’d rather see a B in an AP than an A in the same subject CP.

Chance me back?

B+ in ap is for sure better than A in regular, but i think a B is about the same (from what I’ve heard). If you can get above a B+, I’d do it. The difference between regular and honors depends on your high school.
