<p>i have overall good grades but in my first year at a cc i messed up alot so i have one f and 6 w's in my transcripts. how much would this ruin my chances in getting into a uc? and do i have a better chance instead getting into a cal state?or what other schools you think would be good for me.</p>
<p>If your CC is on a semester system and you signed up for five courses per semester that would be mean you only successfully completed 3 out of 10 courses attempted. As a transfer you really only have one semester left to show you can do college level work. I think a UC, with the possible exception of UC Merced, is out of the question. CSUs for the most part have lower admission standards that UCs but they receive an enormous number of applications and with state budget cutbacks are reducing the number of students they admit so even a CSU is going to be a real reach for you. I suggest you resign yourself to doing three years at the CC and basically doing your first year over with hopefully better results.</p>
