Hi, I'm going to be a high school senior and I have an unweighted gpa of 3.3/4 and a weighted gpa of 4.3/4. I have taken nearly all honors classes with the exception of Geometry, scored a 28.25 on my Act, have many hours of volunteer work, am in 4 honor societies, Spanish club, played soccer freshman/sophomore year, I swim on the swim team, and have held a part time job during the school year. Thanks for your consideration!

One more thing, I rank 85/610 in my class, about 13-14%

What’s your UF G.P.A?

UF puts a lot of emphasis on EC’s and Leadership positions. They don’t put as much emphasis on SAT scores and grades as like most state schools. I agree with @tandrew what is your UF GPA. Remember +1 for AP/DE and +.5 for Honors. Heres a scale <a href=“How to Convert (Calculate) Your GPA to a 4.0 Scale – BigFuture”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools;

UF uses holistic admissions and it can appear a bit random.

50% is based on GPA (the most important), Class Rigor, and test scores (least important). They will compare the courses you took, vs. what is available at your high school. You want to take the more rigorous classes available.

The other 50% is based on EC’s, leadership, and essay. EC’s can include work, etc. The essay is important, so spend some time on it.

The Middle 50% of the 2013 Freshmen Class:
High School GPA of 4.1 - 4.4
SAT of 1780-2020
ACT of 26 – 31

Determine your UF weighted GPA, but it’s likely around 3.9 to 4.1. Your GPA is a bit low, but your ACT score is fine. Your class ranking is also a little high, as you’re competing against other students at your high school for slots at UF. However, keep in mind that it’s holistic admissions and it’s not 100% based on GPA/Test scores/Class ranking. Overall, UF is likely a high match. You have a decent chance, but make sure you have other options.

Good Luck!
