I was wondering what major you want to pursue, so that I can give a more accurate chance :slight_smile:

Political Science

Oh, my bad, I missed it at the top of your thread. Sorry!

Chance:
Stats: Great job, what’s your weighted GPA?
ECs: Pretty average, however you have lots of leadership positions which is great!
Awards: Nothing outstanding, I was hoping for some MUN awards

Overall:
Most of the schools you listed will be low reaches. I mean, all t20s are reaches for even the most qualified candidate. I wish you the best of luck!

Ok but the OP has a hook, a male URM, you can’t just overlook it. I think you’ll get into at least one of the schools you applied to, but it’s really hard these days to say whether it’s Yale or Princeton or Chicago or Stanford. You should peruse the race thread where there are some info on black males and gpa/scores. I think a 3.8 /33 with APs will put you in the top of black male applicants, so I think, and hope you do well. If you pressed me on it, I say you get into Yale. Good luck.

@theloniusmonk

I know that he has a hook, it’s just that even some of the best candidates get rejected. All the t20s are reaches for everyone. Honestly, I would say that he has a chance of getting into one.

Thanks everyone!

Write good essays. Focus on a theme and your leadership abilities ( which tie into Poli Sci) and talk about what you learned as a person from leadership positions and track.
I’d say given your URM, you have a better chance than most getting into one of them. Also make sure your recommendations are excellent and talk about character.

I also attended the summer seminars for both the Naval and Military Academy, and those are both hard to get into, so I think that helps my application because anyone can apply to it around the world.
