Going to apply to Amherst for ED but i am fully aware of my horrendous SAT score. I would really love to get accepted to UCLA, UCBerkeley, GT and Amherst. What do you guys say my chances are? HELP?

bumpity bump

I would like to add that I’m also really interested in Cornell.

Anybody with some insight?

I’d like to know what courses you took, and about your gpa. Those two are fairly important when it comes to admissions. Getting Sat IIs back will provide a lot more insight.

You mention applying for engineering/physics. Those are two different things, and most schools have different “sub schools” for engineering and physics. Physics is usually easier to get into, especially at places like UIUC which are known for engineering.

@PhysicsWizard
I don’t have a GPA nor am i sending it through my transcript. But I have calculated it for your comparison
(all UW GPA)

9th GPA: 3.88
9th courses: Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Computer science, Economics, Business Studies

10th GPA: 3.96
10th Courses: Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Computer science, Economics, Business Studies

11th GPA: 4.0
11th courses: Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology

12(predicted) GPA: 4.0
12th courses: Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology

GPA upward trend
Thanks for your help

That upward trend is very good. Are you submitting your grades?

@PhysicsWizard
yup, i’m submitting my grades
I feel like my SAT score is holding me back in my application. I have no idea why i did so bad on test day. I hope that I’ll be able to improve to about 1500+ on my Dec 1 test
