I have a 2.9 GPA, but it was because I had to move to a new state my junior year and it affected my grades alot. Without that my GPA was about a 3.2. I have a 930/1600 on SATs. please help!

I do not think you will get in but it is certainly worth trying. Have you considered Atarting at a CC and transferring? You can also try SUNY Plattsburgh, Potsdam, or Cobbleskill.

do you know their average GPA? why do you think I won’t get in?

The bottom 25% of SAT scores is 1030… You have a 930 which I would guess is around the the bottom 10%.

You might… Do you have naviance? I would apply and tell my story about changing schools. I don’t know anybody who got in with a 2.9. You really need about a 3.4, but again you never know.

so does that mean I have a chance? would they take consideration to me moving half way high school? and do recommendations help?

do you know anybody with a 2.9 that has applied?

Of course you have a chance. This school seems like a reach but kids get into reach schools all the time. I think you need to tell them your story since this explains your GPA. Good ECs and recs will help as well. Have you considered other schools also?

Anything is possible. Kids from my daughter’s high school got into Syracuse with a 3.0 even though NAviance said 3.7, and my friend’s daughter got into JMU with a 3.2 even though Naviance said 3.7. Go for it but have a back up.

Cobleskill is for you if you want to do agriculture-related majors…
