I wanted to know what Cal States, UC's and good out of state colleges I can get into. I have a 2.7 GPA, 1790 SAT I Score, 29 ACT Score, 1310 SAT II Score. Also ive passed both APUSH and AP Lang exams and I'm taking 4 more AP Classes next year. I plan to take the SAT I and SAT II as long with the ACT again. My plan goal is to get around 2000/2400, around 1400/1600 and around 31/36. Also i am located in Corona just in case you are wondering about service areas. As with my senior year I plan to not slack off and try to get straight A's.

P.S. I know ive messed up in High School and that my GPA is very low but please give honest answers. And it would also help if you could list some out of states Universities as well.

If you could raise you act to 31 or 32, you might have a chance at getting into UC Davis, UC Irvine, and UCSB. A little better chance at UC Santa Cruz. And I think u’ve prolly gotta 75% chance at UC Merced and UC Riverside. The GPA really hurts, if u cud get ur UC GPA up to a 3.0, u wud b in much better shape

I don’t think you need a 31 or 32 on your ACT (maybe a 29 or 30 for UCD, UCI, UCSB), BUT I do not believe a 2.7 GPA isn’t going to do it for most UC’s.

You need a minimum UC GPA of 3.0 to get into any UC, so calculate that GPA. As for CSUs, your best shot will be the one where you are in the service area.

You must get your GPA to a 3.0 by the time you apply to any UC’s, if that is even possible. As for the Cal States, I’d say you have about an average chance. Everything is good but your GPA.

I know this is going to come out mean, but do you really think that you can manage getting all A’s/passing 4 AP classes after your previous mishaps? It’s really immature to think that you can just go from not trying to taking 4 AP classes and getting all A’s. I think that you should focus on doing what you can and not taking extra classes just because they have ‘AP’ in them.

I believe you can get into the low UCs if you get all As by the time you apply. Its going to take a lot of work but it will pay off =)

If you get a 3.0 UC GPA and i think if you complete the requirements, you will be guaranteed admission to at least one UC. I’m not sure though. I just started looking at this stuff maybe a month ago =)

Thank you for the help but UC’s have accepted people that have had GPA under 3.0. Also tqel93 4 AP Classes are nothing, my problem is doing the work in classes, ive never failed a test in high school. And never studied for my sat, sat II and act.
