What are my chances -- Johns Hopkins?

GPA:
3.73 (Top 25%)

Rank:
70/280

I know my rank is pretty sub par, but I really took hard classes. There are some students ranked ahead of me who are taking Precalculus. There are others are who take easy classes such as Drama or Advanced Physical Education, so their ranks are heavily inflated. My point is that I've taken extremely hard classes.

You have a solid resume so far. Depends on how you did on all your AP’s and the subject tests. I know a white guy who got in JHU with 1 AP test (scored a 4 I think).

You have advanced phys ed in your school? I wish I had that. :(

Yeah we do. It’s really chill (but that’s based on what my friends tell me lol!)

I’ve gotten two 4’s, one 3, and one 2. (Enough for the AP Scholar Status)

I would say you have a pretty good chance, but being an Asian student makes it tougher for you, unfortunately :(

Just knock out your first semester grades and you should be in the clear!

Chance me?

Thank you! Also, I made a mistake. I’m actually out of state.

^Bump

Although my GPA is top 25%, my SAT is top 1% (if John Hopkins weights SAT more than GPA.)

I don’t think a 2100 is top 1%, I have a 2090 and my best score section is in the 97%.

I think JHU is a high match for you. You have great course rigor, good AP scores and EC’s. Best of luck!

I meant at my school.

At my school, we have this thingy that compares SAT Scores with other students in our grade.

i would say that johns hopkins for you is a low-reach, i assume you’re applying ED which would be helpful. I was rejected from JHU with similar stats (less EC’s, higher SAT/AP scores), i think though you have a fairly good shot, good luck

Thank you for the replies!

Bumppp 10 char!
