What are my chances? Much appreciated!

This may be a bit too early to tell but I just wanted to get an idea to see what I can work towards. I am rising junior at the moment and my career GPA is a 4.3. My sophomore PSAT score was a 1650 but I am hoping that it will go up after a prep course and more academic experience. By the time I graduate, I will have done at least 3 AP courses and at least 12 honors courses. I do a range of after school activities: french and german club, chamber choir at night, student run a cappella group, and I am joining model UN and mock trial team as well as hopefully SADD (students against drunk driving). I also will have danced for 8 years. I help out with a middle school a cappella group and also babysit. I have done an internship at my state house (hopefully I will have another internship at a lawyer's office next summer). I am planning on majoring in political science and/or history. Thank you!

Lucy, I don’t feel qualified to chance anyone, but based on the research that I did when looking for my daughter, it looks like you are in good shape for ED. You want to get your test scores into the middle 50% but you have time to do that.

This page gives all kinds of stats that might be helpful to you.

[Elon University Overview - CollegeData College Profile](http://www.collegedata.com/cs/data/college/college_pg01_tmpl.jhtml?schoolId=1202)

There are websites out there that will chance you based on the results of previous students results – I’m guessing this site won’t let me type them but you can find them through a search engine.

Thank you! I did a practice ACT and got a comp score of 30. Do you think that improves my chances?

That will help a lot. That’s in Elon’s top 25%. Elon is very holistic though so nothing is guaranteed. Your EC’s and grades are good and you seem very involved and community minded which Elon likes. Make sure you visit and get to know your admissions counselor. From what I understand, interest is a big “intangible” at Elon. Good luck!

Take a minute and step aside from grades, EC, and scores! My advice is follow the link above and make sure you are in the averages! (At least try to!) Once you are done doing that, go ahead and SHOW INTEREST. Elon loves to see students who really really want to be part of the class! Find out who your admissions counselor is and email them once in a while about who you are, let them get to know you… I once thought that I would be an annoyance emailing them but they love it, they really want to get to know you. So, if you’re serious about this school tell them and show them. Best of luck! i got accepted last year so if you need any application help shoot me a message!

Thanks so much!

no problem! let me know if there’s anything else I can help with
