If you are a recruitable student athlete that will help a lot as a 31 ACT is on the low end of the top-50% at Colby
Applying ED at Colby does give a boost. Your ACT score is right in there for Colby, so as long as you have some good rigor in your course work, come from a well regarded high school, and your sub scores don’t have any big dips, you would have a good chance at ED. Colby likes kids who like them, so applying ED can be a plus. And it seems like you are from California, which could also help.
