I am a senior in the IB Program and have also taken AP classes.
I'm in the top 5% (ranked 25 out of 727 students).
I am hispanic (Dont think that matters?)
I have 100+ volunteers hours and involved in FBLA, Interact Club, Key Club, Art Club, Drama Club, and Spanish Club.
That being said, I got a 1630 on my SATs. I actually took them twice and got the same score. For some reason, I am not a good SAT test taker and can't get a good score.
Everyone I've talked to says my SAT score is pathetic and will ruin my chances of getting into UT.
Is this true? What are my chances? I really want to go to UT (I live in Texas, btw). :|

You’re in the top 5%? If it’s a public school you go to, that automatically accepts you into the university in Texas (you still have to apply to the college of your choice, say engineering for instance).
