I am a senior now and I want to know about my chances of get into UCSD.
I have a UC GPA of 4.15 and ACT score of 27 ( which is about 1880 in SAT). I only took AP Calculus test (5) and AP Art Studio test (4). I am in several clubs, and is Funding Chair of one, Project Manager for another. And I play in the school golf team. Just consider my college essays as average.
My friends told me I have a big chance, but the thing is I'm Asian so it is harder for me to get into colleges. I just want to know what do you think? It will really help me a lot!</p>
<p>UCSD: Reach</p>
<p>If your capped UCGPA is 4.15, you have a good chance for UCSD because UCSD’s average capped UCGPA is 4.13. Your ACT score may be a little below average, but fortunately for you, the UCs place the most emphasis on GPA. The UCs do not use affirmative action, so being Asian should not have a large impact on your chances. I think that UCSD is a high match for you.</p>
<p>Being Asian won’t make much of a difference for UCs- Aff Action is made illegal (still makes a difference, but not too much).
Retake ACT or take SAT this fall. You should be a solid match if you score 33/2200+. These tests are just a measure of how much you can deal with bs, not an intelligence spectrum- work hard, and you should be able to do it. </p>
<p>Otherwise, I agree with the other poster- UCSD:Reach</p>

Being Asian will not factor into your admissions decision but only 2 AP classes will not be competitive.
Retake ACT or SAT and although GPA is usually outweighs test scores, for UCSD you still need high STATs on both.</p>
